Parent & Me Class: Cooks and Books Single Class
Join us for an engaging four-week series, meeting every Sunday, designed especially for children in TK-2 and their parent or guardian. This class combines interactive themed cookbooks with fun, age-appropriate recipes and hands-on cooking activities.
This February and March, we’ll dive into Lotta Nieminen's Cook In A Book series, an interactive and colorful collection of recipe books that make cooking a playful and educational experience. Each session pairs a themed cookbook lesson with hands-on cooking activities, giving your little chef the opportunity to learn basic cooking skills and build confidence in and out of the kitchen. With your help, your child will explore the basics of cooking, gaining confidence in and out of the kitchen.

Week One: Pancakes
Your little chef will learn the basics of making fluffy, golden pancakes. Together, you’ll transform a basket of ingredients into a stack of maple magic.
Week Two: Tacos
This week is all about delicious tacos! With fresh ingredients, your child will craft crispy and flavorful tacos, building confidence in preparing and assembling meals.
Week Three: Spaghetti
Explore the art of making saucy pasta dishes. Your child will create delicious spaghetti from scratch, learning the essentials of preparing pasta and sauce.
Week Four: Pizza
Finish the series by creating tasty pizzas! Your little one will enjoy transforming their basket of ingredients into personalized, delicious pizzas, learning how to handle dough and toppings.
Bonus Week: Cookies! (Optional)
Extend the fun with an additional week featuring the Cookies! book from the Cook In A Book series. This bonus class teaches your little one how to create delicious cookies, perfect for sharing or enjoying at home.

Policy & Procedures
Refund Policy
Refunds are available up to seven days prior to the start of a program or camp. Requests must be submitted in writing. No refunds will be granted within seven days of the start date or for no-shows. Exceptions may be made for medical emergencies with proper documentation. Transfer to a future session may be offered based on availability.
Registration Policy
Registration is required for all programs and camps. Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of a completed registration form and payment in full. Early registration is encouraged, as spaces are limited and fill quickly. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Incomplete forms or delayed payments may result in a forfeited spot.
Class Waitlist
If a program or camp reaches capacity, a waitlist will be created. Waitlisted individuals will be contacted if a spot becomes available and will have 24 hours to confirm their enrollment. If a response is not received within this timeframe, the spot will be offered to the next person on the list.
Location Details
All classes and camps take place at The Hood Kitchen, located at 350 Clinton St., Suite A, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. This fully equipped commercial kitchen provides a safe and professional environment for students to learn and explore their culinary skills. Parking is available on-site. Directions and additional location details will be provided upon registration confirmation.
